Pippin: "I didn't think it would end this way."

Gandalf : "End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path. One that we all must take...The gray rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it.''

Pippin: "What, Gandalf? See what?"

Gandalf: "White shores. And beyond, the far green country, under a swift sunrise."

Pippin: "Well, that isn't so bad."

Gandalf: "No. No, it isn't."

This is one of my favorite parts in The Return of The King. I am not sure whether it was in the book, as I have not read that part yet (a thing I need to get to), but I do believe that it was somehow due to Tolkien's influence that this part made it into the movie.

It is one of my most sincere beliefs that J.R.R. Tolkien was a Christian. Many of his most famous quotes testify to that fact, as does his life story. Two good reads on this subject are: Tolkien: A Biography, by Humphrey Carpenter and The Silmarillion, by J.R.R. Tolkien. But more about that when “Proof that Tolkien was a Christian #2” is posted. :)

P.S. I know this is new - so just to let you know: I have decided that it was time that I collected some evidence regarding Tolkien's most obvious Christianity, and this post is the 1st one in the series. So look forward to more. ;)
